The Print Show gains key litho presence with Apex

Bob Usher, managing director of Apex Digital Graphics, made the decision to sign up for The Print Show 2016 after visiting the inaugural event last year

Running from October 11th to 13th at the NEC in Birmingham, organisers have pledged to make this year’s event even more exciting than the inaugural show last year, which attracted widespread interest from across the industry.

One visitor that was left particularly impressed with the event last year was Bob Usher, managing director of Apex Digital Graphics, the latest company to confirm its attendance this year. Usher visited the 2015 show to see how his firm could also benefit from being in attendance, and, as a result, has signed up to exhibit on stand B39 at this year’s much-anticipated event.

Usher said: “Having visited the 2015 show, I was impressed with both the quality and quantity of visitors to the show and the great overall atmosphere that was generated. I certainly felt that it was an event that would suit Apex.

“The Print Show will provide us with a welcome opportunity to mix with industry friends and competitors, as well as to engage with prospects and existing customers. I believe in industry shows and events; they are a great meeting place, and when people meet face-to-face, things start to happen.”

“We are looking forward to engaging with both digital and litho printers and to demonstrating consistently high quality, instantly dry printing, with very fast make-readies, at the lowest cost per page on the market. We believe that some digital print companies are overlooking the power and potential of litho as an effective production system.

“For visitors to be able to see such a solution in action will allow us to present very convincing arguments as to why litho could be just what they need to make money from printing. “

With this year’s event just seven months away, Usher said that preparations are already underway, revealing that Apex intends to show off litho technology from market heavyweight Ryobi.

“We are planning to bring our low-cost, short-run B3 litho solution to the show, consisting of a fully-automatic Ryobi four-colour B3 format press with LED-UV drying, along with a Cron metal platesetter to produce low cost plates. We believe that one essential attraction for any printing show is to have a proper litho printing machine actually printing.”

We have a great working relationship with Apex and to have them on board as exhibitor for the show this year will not just benefit the event, but also the thousands of visitors that are expected to attend

Chris Davies, event director for The Print Show, was equally pleased to secure Apex as an exhibitor, having worked with Bob and the company for many years.

Davies said: “We have a great working relationship with Apex and to have them on board as exhibitor for the show this year will not just benefit the event, but also the thousands of visitors that are expected to attend.

“To have representation for one of the industry’s main litho print technologies in the form of Ryobi is fantastic. Visitors will be able to learn how, despite the influx of digital print, litho still offers plenty of advantages in today’s modern market. I look forward to working with Bob and his team in the lead up to the show, which is shaping up to be one of the most important events on the UK print calendar this year.”
