Fujifilm sets ‘industry benchmark’

Once predicted to become the overarching print technology by the end of the 20th century, the dominance of high-volume digital presses has yet to become a reality, but the latest investment by Greenshires Group points to an acceleration of its up-take.

Fujifilm’s Jet Press 720S has been installed by Greenshires Group

With a portfolio of technology that spans everything from litho presses to wide-format inkjet systems, Greenshires has just revealed the installation of a Fujifilm Jet Press 720S at its Leicester site—just one of eighty installations of the technology worldwide so far.

Greenshires noticed a shift towards high quality shorter runs and therefore decided to invest in the B2 digital press that was showcased at this year’s Drupa.

“We were blown away by the quality of the Jet Press 720S to be honest,” says Greenshires’ managing director, Richard Dalby.

He continues: “We knew it was good - but it wasn't until we saw it in action at Drupa this year that we appreciated just how good it is. The Fujifilm inkjet technology that drives it seems to be becoming something of an industry benchmark.”

Dalby says the Fujifilm team were “fantastic” to work with and seamlessly handled the installation process. He adds: “We're now in a position to be able to take on a range of high quality, short-run work that we couldn't before - putting our business in the strongest possible position going forward.”

Keith Dalton, managing director of Fujifilm UK, adds: “Having watched the global momentum of this press building over the past year, and the huge interest shown in it at Drupa—we're delighted that Greenshires is now set to experience all the benefits that it offers.

“The professional and meticulous approach Greenshires has taken in making their decision has been impressive, and with print suppliers needing to find new approaches, Greenshires has ensured that it is well-placed to take on the challenges of an ever changing market.”
