Gemini shoots for the stars with new iSaddle Pro

Shoreham-on-Sea-based sheet-fed print business Gemini Print has invested in a new iSaddle Pro twin tower booklet maker from Duplo UK.

Gemini had been running its existing iSaddle for 10 years

The company printer traded in its 10-year-old iSaddle for the latest version of the machine in order meet an expected increase in demand following the end of lockdown.

Steve Cropper, managing director of Gemini, says that with lockdown easing, much of the fold, trim, stitch work that fell away last year has started to come back and the company was in need of a new solution to bolster its production setup.

“As a print finisher for nearly 29 years this is an excellent machine to run as I work on it on a daily basis; the make-ready time and speeds are so quick and the software to save and reload is very good,” Cropper said.

“I can’t really argue with that because for us, the iSaddle is the perfect system. The new iSaddle is faster, more accurate, more intuitive to use, easier to set up which takes under a minute, it’s highly accurate and incredibly versatile – and it builds on the same principles that we’ve trusted for 10 years.

“In fact, the Duplo kit, iSaddle, DC-746 multi-finisher and the Duplo DBP 500 binder were integral to keeping us open during most of the pandemic.

“With the automation and the fact that they are so easy to use, we can have minimal operator touchpoints throughout our finishing, and this meant that we could socially.”
