Kodak, a global manufacturer of print technology as well as advanced materials and chemicals, has detailed its work with Searchlight Pictures to create vivid promotional postcards for Searchlight’s latest film Poor Things.
The film comes from Yorgos Lanthimos, director of Oscar-winning film The Favourite, which, like Poor Things, also stars Emma Stone.
In Poor Things, Emma Stone plays Bella Baxter, a young woman brought back to life by the unorthodox scientist Dr Godwin Baxter, played by Willam Dafoe.
The film has been nominated for several Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actress, and won a variety of awards at last night's 2024 BAFTAs including Leading Actress, Production Design, Costume Design, and Special Visual Effects.
KODAK inkjet printing technology was combined with impactful photography to showcase the beautiful vision of the film while also showcasing the quality and productivity benefits of the KODAK PROSPER ULTRA 520 Press.
Poor Things was shot on a combination of KODAK EKTACHROME, VISION3 500T, and EASTMAN DOUBLE-X Black & White 35mm film stocks. This choice was made due to the unique and artistic vision of the film.

The postcard collection made alongside the film’s promotional campaign provided a visual memento for fans, showcasing bold images captured on KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA 400 Film by Lanthimos and renowned photographer Atsushi Nishijima.

“This joint project has shown that the PROSPER ULTRA 520 Press is ideally suited to efficiently producing high-quality, high-ink coverage work with short lead times.”
According to Kodak, the postcards were able to take advantage of the PROSPER ULTRA 520’s ability to achieve offset quality on coated and glossy papers at speeds of up to 152mpm.
