Flexo presses key to Chinese firm’s growth

Chinese label manufacturer Advance Printing Company, which has 13 flexo presses, sees the technology as the key to its planned growth.

Advance Printing has production facilities in Tianjin, Guangzhou and most recently Urumchi, in addition to its main 35,000sq m plant in Suzhou and has installed a total of 13 Mark Andy flexo presses in the last ten years for use in commercial operation.

As China’s manufacturing requirements continue to expand nationwide, the firm has plans to expand its label manufacturing to be able to fulfil demands in any locality.

President of Advance Printing May Cai, says: “We are looking to join the top three in China by becoming more proactive with our customers and working more closely with our machinery and substrate suppliers – leading brands require more than just labels, they demand a full-service package.”

The firm says: “Advance Printing knows the importance of investing with the right manufacturers, and in Mark Andy found the perfect partner for flexo presses.”

With a history of 10” and 13” legacy 2200 and LP3000 lines, the company now has nine of the bestselling Performance series presses.

Currently, the presses are working around 40% paper-based substrates to 60% filmic, but Cai says the demand for film is growing fast and she is impressed with the Performance series’ ability to hold register at high speed.

Commenting, Mark Andy distributor for China Benny Shaw, says: “It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with a company like Advance Printing. They are dynamic in operation and demanding of their suppliers, so to have installed 13 Mark Andy presses in ten years is a mark of our ability to match these high standards.”
