Walstead wins Telegraph Media Group contract

The UK’s largest commercial offset printing business, Walstead Group, has won a contract with Telegraph Media Group (TMG) to print The Saturday Telegraph magazine and Luxury supplements.

With the deal starting May 21st, the titles will be printed at Walstead’s Bicester facility.

The contract award comes after a request for proposal process by TMG which ended this year. Following this process, the printing of its titles will be transferred from the previous printer’s gravure printing process to Walstead’s heatset web offset technology.

Paul Utting, chief executive officer of Walstead Group, comments: “We are delighted to welcome TMG as a new blue-chip customer.

“This contract further endorses our market-leading position for high volume publications and adds to the growing number of newspaper supplements already won this year.”

Richard Picking, director of operations at TMG, adds: “This new partnership will support us in ensuring we deliver the highest quality print products to our loyal readers across the country.”

Wallstead Group employs over 800 members of staff across four manufacturing sites. The Group offers web-offset and sheetfed printing, content production, and digital services for the retail, magazines, catalogues and commercial sectors.
