Agfa and EFI announce strategic partnership

The two companies have entered into a global collaboration to strengthen both brands

Both companies will debut the collaboration at FESPA in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Agfa, which is part of the Agfa-Gavaert Group, has partnered with global technology company EFI in order for both companies to integrate one another’s technologies into both portfolios. The move is seen as a way of strengthening both brands in the wide-format printing industry.

The partnership will debut at FESPA Global Print Expo in Amsterdam in March (19th to 22nd) where both companies will be demonstrating the benefits of this collaboration on their respective stands. 

Under the agreement Agfa will integrate EFI’s roll-to-roll system into its offerings while EFI will incorporate Agfa’s hybrid inkjet printers into its suite of solutions.

Arnaud Calleja, vice president digital printing solutions at Agfa, says: "We are thrilled to be partnering with EFI. By integrating its roll-to-roll platform into our sign and display offerings, we are poised to deliver an exceptionally diverse product range with unprecedented value to our customer base. 

“At the same time, we can both maintain a dedicated focus on product innovation within our respective specialized domains, ensuring our technologies remain at the forefront of digital print transformation.”

The collaboration is under example of the continued partnering of various manufacturers and businesses as businesses look to diversify and strengthen their positions in light of economic challenges.

Todd Zimmerman, senior vice president/general manager of display graphics and OEM ink at EFI, adds: "This partnership represents a convergence of industry leaders, each bringing unique strengths to the table. The integration of Agfa's hybrid platform into our solutions reaffirms our commitment to providing our customers with the most advanced and comprehensive options available."

The companies state that customers can expect to benefit from the new strength and innovations of both companies as both businesses will expand the potential of inkjet printing.

Pascal Juéry, chief executive officer of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, concludes: “Digital Print is one of our company’s key growth engines. This strategic partnership with industry-leader EFI will broaden the range of options we can offer to our customers and expand the market reach for our state-of-the-art solutions.
