The Printing Charity has announced David Phillips as the new chair of the Printing Charity along with Julia Cole as the Vice Chair.

Three new trustees have also been recruited into crucial roles to bring legal, social care, and financial expertise to the board.

Phillips and Cole have moved into their new positions following the Charity’s 2023 annual general meeting after previous chair and vice chair Jon Wright and James Povey stepped down due to completing their maximum tenure.

Printing Charity chief executive officer, Neil Lovell, comments: “We at the Charity are incredibly grateful for all the time and energy that Jon and James have given to us, firstly as Members of our Council and then as Chair and Vice Chair.

“I’m delighted that David is stepping into the role of chair, and Julia as vice chair in this, her last year as a trustee. Both bring extensive knowledge and understanding of the print industry and the people who work within it, which will help us increase our ability to provide the best possible support and services to those who need it.”

Phillips is chief operating officer for Paragon Customer Communications and is a keen advocate for developing future talent and helping to grow Paragon’s innovations.

Cole has worked in the printing industry since the 1980s, originally holding a highly respected sales and training role with Xerox before moving on to OKI and then HP. Currently, Cole works as non-exec strategy consultant for the British Printing Industry Federation (BPIF).

The Printing Charity will look to build the charity’s reach and impact with the help of Phillips and Cole, along with the
new trustees Sam Hay, Si Mathavan, and Catherine Cook.
