Drupa will be the launch site for Landa Group’s Nanographic Printing Presses, which will be available to order and will ship in early 2017

“We expect visitors to our stand at Drupa to be completely blown away by the amazing performance of these products—for which we will be taking orders at Drupa. Our presses will start shipping in early 2017,” says Benny Landa, chairman and founder of the Landa Group.

He continues: “Fourteen years of nanotechnology research has enabled us to make tremendous breakthroughs in the quality, speed and cost of printing. Landa Nanographic Printing Presses produce offset quality, and now at offset speeds and offset-competitive cost per print—on virtually any paper stock.

“This research has also spawned a new technology, Nano-Metallography, which will enable metallization graphics at less than half the cost of foil, with zero waste—and is quicker and simpler to use.”

Drupa will see the Landa S10P perfecting press running at 13,000 B1 sheets per hour at litho-quality. Its 3,000sq m stand will also feature the Landa S10 sheetfed press for folding carton and point-of-purchase printing and the 1m wide Landa W10 web press for flexible packaging and paperboard. Landa will also hold theater presentations five times a day for the entire duration of the exhibition, where he will explain the technology's development process and unique advantages. The aforementioned Nano-Metallography is also an interesting and unique development, which will be showcased applied to a narrow-web label press.

The news will no doubt cause waves of interest that will bounce around the global print industry, as the genius that is Benny Landa seems to have achieved his impossible dream—cost-effectively combining the versatility of digital with the qualities and speed of offset to produce short-to-medium runs with the lowest cost per digitally-printed page in the industry. The news will also lay to rest any speculation about whether Landa Group would be able to turn its technology into a commercial reality.
