FUJIFILM and Scribbler partner for print-on-demand

FUJIFILM print technology has recently enabled high street greeting card brand Scribbler to launch an instant greeting card kiosk.

The kiosk allows Scribbler to print cards on demand using FUJIFILM print technology

The kiosk which holds over 1,000 designs enables Scribbler greeting cards to be printing instantly rather than retails needing to have stock of the most popular designs.

Instead, the designs can be uploaded to the kiosk overnight ready to sell the next day. This technology will enable retailers to respond quickly to trends and seasons without the need for stock deliveries.

FUJIFILM’s CX3240 printer is housed within the small footprint of the kiosk and ca print onto specific 320gsm heavyweight greetings cards and media. Importantly, the print-on-demand technology enables Scribbler to avoid unnecessary waste during busy seasons such as Christmas, Easter, and Valentine’s Day.

Chris Chater, head of commercial development at Fujifilm UK, comments: “With the introduction of the Scribbler/FUJIFILM kiosks, not only will retailers be able to reduce footprint, stock holding and waste, consumers will be able to choose and print the perfect card instantly.

“With thousands of designs and templates that can be updated and added to regularly, no customer will leave disappointed that they haven’t found the right card.”

The kiosk was revealed at a pre-release event on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th July at the Fujifilm House of Photography in London.

Tom Procter, a member of Scribbler’s founding family and responsible for business development, says: “We are hugely excited to be working with FUJIFILM, as well as our partner designers to launch what is effectively a Scribbler store in a self-service kiosk.

“The beauty of the kiosk is that it lends itself to be sited both within all types of traditional retailers as well as in all manner of other locations, from corporate offices to educational establishments, entertainment venues to travel hubs.”

Procter adds: “The user experience and resultant product quality are fantastic. It feels really exiting to be innovating and taking greeting cards where they have never been before.”
