Bakpac can reportedly now convert and ship over 1 million digitally printed pouches in a week, thanks to the installation of Galaxy Packtech pouchmaking machines
Independent UK pouch manufacturer, BakPac, has hit a significant production milestone, converting and shipping over 1 million digitally printed stand-up pouches in a single week.
According to the company, this production milestone is now expected to become its ‘new normal’ figure, following the installation of two additional Galaxy Packtech pouchmaking machines.
The machines were installed at BakPac’s Brentwood facility throughout May, bringing BakPac’s total fleet to five alongside two HP Indigo 200K presses. BakPac is reportedly the only site in the UK to run this machine setup.
The new pouch makers offer enhanced sealing technology designed to improve performance with mono-materials, which are increasingly sought after by brands for their recyclability. The Packtech solution includes ‘non-stop’ production features and intelligent web handling, developed to enable faster changeovers and improved consistency across short and long runs.
The reported output level is currently being achieved on a single long shift, thereby leaving BakPac with room for further expansion.
Harry Baker, manager of sales and operations at Bakpac, says: “This is what BakPac was built for: high-volume, fast-turnaround pouch production – across multiple SKUs, materials, sizes, and sectors – all while delivering the consistency and quality our customers rely on.
“What makes this milestone even more exciting is that we’re just getting started. We’ve got the people, the machines, and the ambition to scale. It’s buzzing here at BakPac.”
BakPac is the flexible packaging division of Bakers, a family-run trade printer of self-adhesive labels which also specialises in materials and packaging. An independent, family-run business, the UK company has operated for over 50 years.
