Canon has announced the launch of three new models in its MAXIFY printer series: the GX7150 and GX6150 MegaTank printers, as well as the BX110 with Battery.

The new devices have been developed to provide a simple ‘plug and play’ printing solution for small businesses.

The GX7150 and GX6150, which build upon the previous GX7050 and GX6050 models, feature refillable ink tank technology, large capacity paper cassettes, and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), aiming to deliver improved cost efficiency and productivity.

A 100-sheet rear feed in the MegaTank models is reported to significantly reduce the cost per page. In economy mode, the devices are capable of printing up to 9,000 sheets in black or up to 21,000 sheets with a full set of ink bottles.

Printing at calculated speeds of 24ipm in black and 15.5ipm in colour, the GX models can print on a range of media from glossy paper to envelopes, with a specific mode for fine elements like bar codes and QR codes.

According to Canon, the models offer savings of an average 90% on total cost of ownership compared to the top ten laser and inkjet models.

Self-maintenance is also possible via a user-replaceable maintenance cartridge, eliminating the need for service calls.

The MAXIFY BX110 advances on the PIXMA TR150, aiming to provide improved connectivity and security. The portable mobile printer comes paired with an external battery, allowing for printing on the go.

A hybrid ink system is used by the BX110 which uses pigment black ink and dye-based colours, developed to produce vivid imagery.

The solution also features enhanced connectivity in comparison to previous models, allowing for a more stable wireless connection with or without a Wi-Fi access point.

Ellie Porter, product marketing at Canon UK & Ireland, adds: “The way we work has changed so much in recent years, with more people working from different locations and shared spaces becoming more popular.

“To keep up, businesses need compact, high-performance printers that deliver quality anywhere. With the expansion of Canon’s MAXIFY range, including the GX7150 and GX6150 ink tank desktop printers, and the BX110 cartridge portable printer, we’re here to help with flexible, reliable, and versatile printers.”
