Picture perfect first day for PBS at Print Show

Bookbinding and finishing specialist Perfect Bindery Solutions (PBS) has praised organisers of The Print Show after the first day of the firm’s third appearance at the event proved successful.

The company, known across the industry for its ability to provide solutions for a wide range of print work, is exhibiting on one of the largest stands at the 2017 show. Earlier this year, PBS opted to more than quadruple the size of its stand in order to maximise impact and display more kit.

Despite being just one day into the event, it appears that this strategy is already paying dividends, with Steve Giddens, partner at PBS, reporting a high level of interest in kit from companies across the country.

“We’ve spoken to people from as far afield as Glasgow, Scarborough, Norwich and Woolwich, and all of them were genuinely interested in taking on kit from us,” Giddens told Print Monthly at the show today (Wednesday).

“We’ve had a constant stream of good visitors today. Sometimes at these sort of shows, it tends to be busier at certain times of the day, but today, I’ve been on my feet all day talking to visitors—it’s been really good for us.”

After using The Print Show 2016 as a platform to launch new kit, PBS has opted to follow a similar route this year by showing off a solution it has developed in partnership with IML Machinery in Italy. Billed as a “revolutionary new book production system”, the One-Line combines the 1R600 binder and TR30 three-knife trimmer.

Giddens says interest has been high in the new solution, but highlighted the PBS bindery products as the solutions that have attracted the most attention on the opening day—along with the firm’s box maxing machines.

“We’ve had a lot of quality visitors and they seem to be interested in investing in our larger machinery, which is great for us,” Giddens says, adding: “We’ve also got a lot of visitors booked in to come and see us later on at The Print Show, so we expect to be very busy tomorrow and Friday.”

Giddens was also open in his praise of the new venue in Telford, saying that the team at the venue have been a “delight”.

Perfect Bindery Solutions is exhibiting on stand D07 at The Print Show this week. The event runs from October 11th to 13th at the International Centre in Telford.
