Xerox wins contract to overhaul a major defence company’s print infrastructure

BAE Systems is a global defence, aerospace and security company, based in London but with operations all over the world.

Xerox has signed a five-and-a-half-year agreement to utilise analytics software to manage and optimise BAE Systems’ print infrastructure, reduce costs and bolster document security.

“Security is vital to BAE Systems as we work to protect national security, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure,” says Paul Terris, head of IT Procurement, BAE Systems. “Xerox’s global offering is helping us to keep our operations safe while reducing costs and delivering an innovative print solution.”

Xerox also plans to introduce multifunction printers embedded with the ConnectKey platform, featuring a number of productivity apps that can help businesses to streamline how they deal with critical information, whether in-house or in the cloud.

We reimagined their current processes and created a bespoke solution to drive workplace transformation with security as the backbone

Intelligent Workplace Services from Xerox exceeds the stringent security requirements set by the UK’s Ministry of Defence and the US Department of Defense, according to the firm.

Xerox became the first cloud-based managed print-service-provider to receive Federal Risk and Authorisation Management Program (FedRAMP) authorisation for this service – a US government-wide programme that provides a standardised approach to security assessment, authorisation and continuous monitoring for cloud service providers.

Hervé Tessler, executive vice president and president, EMEA Operations, Xerox, adds: “BAE Systems understands how its network of connected MFPs can impact an organisation’s ability to operate at full potential.

"We reimagined their current processes and created a bespoke solution to drive workplace transformation with security as the backbone.”
