Screen latest to withdraw from Drupa 2021

Inkjet digital print specialist Screen Graphic Solutions has announced that it will no longer exhibit at the rearranged Drupa 2021 event due to ongoing concerns about the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Screen is a regular exhibitor at Drupa and had been due to feature at the event earlier this year, prior to it being pushed back to next year as a result of Covid-19.

However, Screen has now taken the decision not to appear at the exhibition at Messe Düsseldorf, citing uncertainty over the pandemic.

“We have made this decision based on sensible precautions after considering the current circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic and the growing opportunities for virtual experiences provided by new communications technologies,” Screen says.

“With both market and social conditions undergoing such drastic changes, Screen believes it is essential to accelerate timely communication with our customers and partners.

“We are continuously creating both virtual and physical communication opportunities designed to ensure the best possible experience.”

Drupa had been due to take place earlier this year, but was moved to a new and shortened run time of April 20th to 28th at the Messe.

However, organisers have been hit by the withdrawal of a number of major exhibitors in recent weeks and months, as uncertainty over the Covid-19 crisis continues to loom over the industry.

Heidelberg, Xerox, ManrolandZecher and Bobst are among the other brands that will no longer appear at the exhibition.
