Content platform FuturePrint is preparing to host its first event dedicated to the hot topic of artificial intelligence (AI) within print later this month.

The FuturePrint TECH: AI for Print Conference will take place at the Moller Institute in Cambridge on April 16th and will focus on the intersection of AI and the print industry.

Described as a “hype-free exploration of what AI can do for printing”, the conference will see a full day of talks from experts from all corners of the industry.

Speakers include Tom Peire of Four Pees, Jan Morovic of HP, David Stephenson of Global Graphics Software, Elizabeth Bowerman of Stephen Austin & Sons, and Matt Dass of Springfield Solutions.

Providing the space for an open dialogue, the goal of the event is to foster honest and open sharing of work, opinions, and ideas and for delegates to leave with innovative ideas and realistic ways to use AI to improve print.

Global Graphics Software is the headline sponsor for the event and is the developer of Harlequin RIP, its award-winning Digital Front End, and core Software Development Kits.

Marcus Timson, co-founder of FuturePrint, explains: “AI has arrived in the print industry and we’re all wondering how we can exploit it and we’re trying to work it out. So, we thought it would be really interesting to bring together innovators from across the gamut of print, whether it’s packaging, décor, commercial print, or wide-format, and share how people are using it.

“I think we’re still at the explorative stage but the more we can bring people together, the more we can work out how to really use this technology to our own advantage for the printing industry.”

Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
