Konica Minolta UK has announced that it will run a two-day event with Service Offset Supplies (SOS), focusing on colour matching across multiple print devices.

The ‘Colour Match of the Day’ event will take place at Konica Minolta’s Client Engagement Centre in Houghton Regis, near Luton, on February 5th and 6th. The event will aim to educate participants on how to keep colours consistent between separate devices including on uncoated stocks.

A range of suppliers and manufacturers will demonstrate their solutions alongside experts from SOS.

Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to experience live demonstrations of the latest print and cut solutions from Konica Minolta as well as a number of partner companies.

The event will feature laminating equipment from Vivid. The manufacturer will be demonstrating its Easymount 1600SH roll laminator.

The laminator features a swing-out arm at both the front and rear of the system, designed to reduce the loading time of both vinyl and laminates without compromising on the finish.

Graphtec GB will also be at the event showcasing Widlaser cut and engraving equipment from manufacturer, widinovations.

SOS has operated for over 50 years, having first been founded in 1972. It offers a wide portfolio of print solutions including wide-format printers from Fujifilm, Epson, and Gibson as well as digital presses from Kodak and Konica Minolta.

SOS positions itself as experts in print colour and is one of the few companies able to issue Fogra certification to print products and materials in the UK.

Speaking of the focus of the event, Ashley Fleming, joint managing director at SOS, comments: “Most printers are now using more than one print technology, so colour matching across devices is more important than ever.

“As one of the few UK suppliers qualified to issue Fogra certification, we take accurate cross platform colour very seriously. Colour Match of the Day will show not only the best in print output, but it will also demonstrate how to keep those colours consistent, on uncoated stocks.”

Speaking of the engagement centre where the event will be hosted, Cameron Mitchell, business leader for indirect channel at Konica Minolta UK, adds: “The Konica Minolta Client Engagement Centre was built to be a state-of-the-art centre of excellence.

“It is a place where the UK print industry can come and learn about the latest technology, innovations, and applications. The Colour Match of the Day event embodies this ambition, and we are pleased to be working with SOS to host this important event.”

Those wishing to attend the show have been encouraged to register on SOS’s website.
