The Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA) has implemented a series of strategic reforms including changing its leadership structure and introducing new members to its council.

A series of changes come as part of the IPIA’s two-year rotational leadership structure. Charles Rogers, managing director of Portland Media, has moved to become IPIA president, Alasdair Browne, director at Abbot Print, has stepped up to become chair and finally, Mark Stephenson, business development manager at Fujifilm Europe, has become vice chair.

The restructure has been made to strengthen the association’s delivery of membership support and print industry stimulus, according to the organisation, as well as to foster collaboration and growth within the print industry.

Speaking of his goals in his new role Browne says: “I see the future of the IPIA as a dynamic, collaborative hub where dedicated professionals in print work together with passion and purpose. As chair, I am privileged to have an opportunity to influence the IPIA’s future development path – a direction that has been so well established by my dynamic predecessors.”

The IPIA has also announced the election of three new council members – Sarah Lees, head of marketing and communications at Compass Business Finance, Pete Horwood, commercial director at Imprint MIS, and Mike Hughes, managing director at Latcham, have all joined the IPIA council.

Rounding up the changes at the organisation, the IPIA has also been re-structured, with the council now centred around four ‘strategic imperative committees’, each led by a designated chair.

The committees aim to focus on the critical areas of the industry, centred around four Strategic Imperative Committees, namely Standards and Best Practice, Education and Professional Development, Market Development and Advocacy, and Networking and Collaboration.

The committees will be supported by working groups, aiming to ensure that they can actively shape the future of the print industry

Speaking about the changes at the IPIA, Rogers says: “These structural changes reflect our ongoing mission to evolve and strengthen the IPIA for long-term success.

“With Alasdair and Mark in their new roles, and an ever-growing network of dedicated professionals, we are well-positioned to drive meaningful initiatives and support our members in new and impactful ways.”
