Alpha Colour Printers has installed a new Versafire LV from HEIDELBERG, integrated with the company's Prinect software solution

Gloucestershire-based printing business, Alpha Colour Printers, has purchased a new Versafire LV from HEIDELBERG to strengthen its service offering and open up new areas of work.
Now installed at the company’s 24,000sq ft factory, the machine is being put to work across a range of projects. Founded in 1979, Alpha Colour Printers serves a diverse client base that includes advertising agencies, local authorities, and educational institutions.
Boasting a top speed of 3,180 A3 sheets per hour, the Versafire LV can support substrates up to 470gsm. The machine has also been integrated with HEIDELBERG's Prinect digital workflow solution to optimise workflows, reduce setup times, and streamline job management.
The purchase represents the company’s latest investment in HEIDELBERG solutions, with the printer complementing its existing litho presses.
Amy Muldrew, managing director of Alpha Colour Printers, says: “This strengthens our ongoing relationship with Heidelberg. They have consistently supported our business as we grow and expand our capabilities.
“Our team is thrilled with the new Versafire LV, especially the ability to print with neon inks digitally, which is something we’ve never been able to offer before. Prinect has also made a huge impact on how we work, providing a streamlined and efficient workflow for our team and allowing us to manage jobs easily and track production progress in real time."
Speaking about the integration of Prinect, Muldrew adds: “Prinect integration has resulted in less manual input and fewer errors, enabling our staff to focus on high-quality print production for our customers. Overall, the team is excited about the opportunities provided by the new equipment.”
