Kyocera has developed a new air-cooled, UV LED light source, designed to provide enhanced curing performance for applications such as ink, resin curing, and adhesion.

The G7A series, which will shortly be available to the market, reportedly ranks among the smallest in its class and achieves the highest irradiance among air-cooled UV LED light sources for UV curing applications.

The technology has been developed in response to growing demand for space-saving solutions in manufacturing, which has led to a need for more compact light sources with higher curing performance.

Compared to Kyocera’s previously released G5H series, the G7A has a footprint 62% smaller and a height 10% lower. According to the company, this places it among the most compact UV LED light sources with the same optical performance.

The G7A utilises Kyocera's proprietary ceramic substrate with heat-dissipation, as well as a module design that includes a heat sink. These features, which aim to maximise energy efficiency, achieve an irradiance of 20 watts per square centimetre at 0mm irradiance distance, reportedly the highest among air-cooled UV LED light sources in its class.

Kyocera has developed its UV LED light sources to offer a low environmental impact. They utilise an air-cooled system that does not require cooling water, with the aim of enabling a more compact installation and reduced power and resource requirements.

Kyocera also recently launched the latest edition to its entry-level A4 monochrome line-up, the ECOSYS 3500 Series.

The new series consists of two printers, the PA3500x and PA3500wx, as well as three multifunction printers (MFPs), the MA3500x, MA3500fx, and MA3501wfx. The presses are designed to help organisations increase productivity through more efficient workflows, with a range of security and sustainability features.
