Canon has announced the expansion of its Red Label Zero FSC range, which is both ClimatePartner and FSC certified, with Canon taking responsibility for any residual CO2 emissions

Canon has announced the expansion of its Red Label Zero FSC range designed for businesses which demand superior quality and professional-looking documents.
The new Red Label Zero cut-sheet and reel papers, first previewed at drupa 2024, are being launched as part of Canon’s Zero paper range, replacing the existing Red Label Superior range.
Red Label Zero will offer the same quality of papers with equivalent size options and a broad range of weights, helping customers who are seeking more sustainable options for print and scan solutions.
The range is designed to support companies looking to achieve CO2 net zero goals, with the papers being both ClimatePartner and FSC certified.
As part of the process for ClimatePartner certification, the product’s carbon footprint has been calculated, reduction targets defined, and reductions implemented. Climate projects have also been financed to take responsibility for any residual emissions.
Canon takes responsibility for any residual CO2 emissions including from transportation, by investing in renewable energy and climate projects certified by environmental body, The Gold Standard.
In order to receive ClimatePartner certification, companies also have to communicate their environmental credentials transparently and effectively substantiate climate claims and commitments.
Dominic Fahy, head of corporate at Canon Production Printing, says: “Sustainability is a key part of our corporate philosophy. From paper ranges through to upgradable and long-lasting print hardware, we’re committed to helping our customers to continuously lower the environmental footprint of their operations.
“Since the launch of the first Zero range in partnership with ClimatePartner in 2012, we have financially contributed to multiple climate projects which help us to take responsibility for any residual emissions from our products.”
Summing up Canon’s sustainable focus, Fahy adds: “Today, we’re proud to be able to offer sustainable manufacturing and product CO2 footprint compensation from cradle-to-customer for our papers, further enabling us to provide sustainable options for our customers and to support them with their own CO2 net zero goals.”
The product is also packaged with paper boxes made from 100% recycled fibres, as well as ream wrappers printed on recyclable paper.
The Red Label Zero FSC range is available in sizes from A4, A3, and SRA3, with weights ranging from 80 to 160 gsm.
The new paper range is one of a number of recent announcements from Canon, which also recently expanded its imageFORCE range at the same time that its subsidiary, Edale, announced the renaming of its product portfolio.
