Epson has announced a new strategic business model designed to make its technology more accessible for large corporate and public sector organisations, while advancing its sustainability commitments.

The model, built in partnership with equipment finance firm, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, introduces a comprehensive leasing programme covering Epson’s entire product portfolio.

A unique feature of the model is Epson’s retention of product ownership at the end of the lease, ensuring all equipment is returned for refurbishment, reuse, or recycling.

The closed-loop approach is designed to reflect Epson’s corporate vision and aims to help prevent products from entering secondary ‘grey’ markets or being disposed of inappropriately.

The goal outlined in Epson’s ‘25 Renewed’ corporate vision is to "achieve sustainability and enrich communities." As part of its environmental commitments, the company has set the goal of becoming carbon negative and ‘underground resource free’ by 2050.

Commenting on the new equipment retention scheme, Richard Wells, head of market development at Epson Europe, says: “We already manage our own innovation and manufacturing facilities. Retaining control of products at the end of their life means we can extend resource use, reduce waste, and further minimise environmental impact.”

The programme includes solutions from business printing and scanning to projection, retail technologies, industrial print and robotics, and Epson’s latest collaborative robotic solutions.

Customers using the programme will also receive full support delivered through Epson’s partners providing fleet management, maintenance, and servicing solutions, which is further enhanced by Epson’s open API designed to enable integration with partners’ management platforms.

Rob Clark, chief operating officer of Epson Europe, says: “This is a significant strategic milestone for Epson and will help us better support large scale customer requirements through a more competitive proposition.

“The solution means our customers can access the latest Epson technology without the burden of up-front investment.”
