The founders of GEW have passed the torch onto the next generation, with the son and daughter of the founders both taking on leadership positions within the company

UK-based UV curing systems manufacturer, GEW, has announced key changes to its senior management, as part of the transition of leadership of the family-owned company to the next generation.
As part of the changes to the curing company, which is headquartered in West Sussex, Rob Rae is now managing director of the global business, including GEW Inc in the USA.
Rae was previously the managing director of sales, and will continue to lead the company’s sales, marketing, and R&D functions. His work in the R&D department has included the development of GEW’s AeroLED and LeoLED LED curing systems.
Ele Neill (née Rae), previous HR director, has become the company secretary and global HR director, overseeing all financial matters within GEW as well as undertaking her HR role.
In a statement on the restructure, GEW says that Neill has “been vital in global recruitment of the very best people available.”
Husband and wife team, Malcolm and Gillian Rae, who are the founders and owners of GEW, will continue as executive directors, providing advice and guidance as required.
Speaking about the restructure, Rob Rae says: “The time is right for these changes: the business is in a strong position which affords my parents time to take more of a guiding role in the future.
“Together we have built a unique business with a strong product range and a pipeline of new products in development. Success is never guaranteed but GEW has exceptional prospects. Our fellow directors are each vastly experienced in their field, and GEW is uniquely positioned to prosper with the next generation of leadership.”
GEW designs and manufactures arc and UV LED curing systems for printing, coating, and converting applications, with a specific focus on systems for label and narrow web printing. The company also specialises in the design and installation of UV LED systems for sheetfed offset applications.
With a main production facility at its UK headquarters and subsidiaries in the USA and Germany, the company also provides solutions to a range of international markets through a network of worldwide distributors.
