Kyocera Document Solutions UK has welcomed back Pete Lunn as its head sales lead after almost four years away from the company.

Lunn previously worked for Kyocera UK for 18 years, rising from the role of reseller manager to become its sales director.

In the intervening period, Lunn worked as a business development manager for Academia, an IT services and consulting group based in Hemel Hempstead.

In his new role as head sales lead, Lunn will be tasked with helping to accelerate Kyocera’s UK channel strategy and deepen support for dealers nationwide.

Speaking about his experience of rejoining the company, Lunn says: “The culture at Kyocera has always been fundamental to its success and remarkable growth. Stepping back into the business has been truly inspiring, and the warm reception from colleagues has reaffirmed just how strong the sense of community is here.”

In his statement about his appointment, Lunn speaks about the strength of Kyocera and its network, adding: “There’s so much potential right now, especially for partners seeking a relationship-driven vendor. Our approach to partnerships is broad and inclusive; we always encourage dealers to reach out directly to explore new opportunities with us.”

Speaking about the thinking behind Lunn’s rehiring, Steve Pearce, head of marketing at Kyocera Document Solutions UK, says: “He understands our partners, has a strong grasp of the market and appreciates what makes Kyocera special. His experience and energy will play an important part in our next phase of channel growth.”

The appointment comes at a time of change within Kyocera’s wider UK operations and its global print offerings.

Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe, a sister company to Kyocera Document Solutions UK, and part of the wider Kyocera umbrella, also recently announced the relocation of its European headquarters from Wokingham, Berkshire, to the Kyocera Unimerco facility in Fradley, Staffordshire.

The relocation will create Kyocera’s largest carbide tool manufacturing site in Europe, establishing Fradley as the new European base for Kyocera SGS.

While the move is not directly linked to Kyocera’s Document Solutions arm, it suggests a commitment to ongoing investment in the UK from the global Kyocera brand.

In August, Xerox also announced a strategic partnership with Kyocera, agreeing to source its high-speed cut-sheet inkjet production presses.

The collaboration between the two print press manufacturers marks Xerox’s re-entry into the cut-sheet inkjet market, significantly broadening its production print portfolio.

At the time of the announcement, Keisuke Koyama, executive officer and senior general manager for Corporate Marketing at Kyocera, said: “By combining Kyocera’s proven inkjet technology with Xerox’s global reach, client trust, and workflow automation, we’re delivering truly unique solutions for production printers who demand reliability and a return on their investment.

“Together, we are enabling our clients to compete more effectively in the fast-evolving production print landscape.”
