BFS Pressroom Solutions celebrates 40 years

BFS Pressroom Solutions has celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2026, marking four decades of supplying pressroom consumables and engineering expertise to the UK print industry.

Founded in 1986 in Reading by John Hope as Business Forms Services, the company initially focused on supplying self-adhesive blankets and envelope printers.

The business expanded and diversified its capabilities over the years to support a wider range of requirements in response to the evolution of the print industry.

Over the decades the company has grown through a series of strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Key milestones include becoming the exclusive UK supplier of Rollin printing blankets, acquiring manufacturer Tyke Rollers, and securing the licence to manufacture Westland rollers in the UK.

Today, BFS Pressroom Solutions is a major UK manufacturer of printing rollers and converters of printing blankets, supplying commercial, packaging, flexographic, and wider specialist sectors.

From its current head office and production facility in Haverhill, West Suffolk, BFS manufactures new, recovered, and exchange rollers, provides precision CNC engineering services, and converts a wide range of printing blankets for sheetfed and web presses.

The company remains family-owned, led by managing director Robin Hope and a senior management team drawn from both technical and operational backgrounds within the print industry.

Speaking about the history of his company, Hope says: “Over the last 40 years the print industry has changed enormously, but the need for reliable pressroom performance has never gone away.

“We’re proud to remain a family-run manufacturing business serving the industry my father started working with in 1986. Reaching this milestone is a testament to the loyalty of our customers, the support of our suppliers, and the expertise of our team, both past and present.”
