The Wimbledon Print Company has officially announced its merge with Minuteman Press in a deal made with the franchise and Margaux Evans, owner of a Minuteman Press who was previously based in Epsom.

Evans opened her Minuteman Press store in October of 2018, and has now acquired The Wimbledon Print Company, in a move seen as a major win and expansion for the Minuteman Press franchisee.

The Wimbledon Print Company is a third-generation printing business with over 25 years in operation which was owned by Michael Woolsey and offers digital, lithographic, large-format, and display printing.

Woolsey wanted to sell the business within a short timeframe due to personal circumstances and “life-changing circumstances”. Woolsey says it was a significant decision after years of dedication and wanted to ensure the future of the company, staff, and customers were in safe hands.

Mark Jones, regional vice president for Minuteman Press, is cited as a key catalyst for the sale, which Woolsey credits along with the entire Minuteman Press team for making the sales process stress-free and simple for such a “major life event”.

Evans, who has acquired The Wimbledon Print Company, is now looking to expand to a larger premises and has relocated her Minuteman Press business to Wimbledon and has retained all staff and grown her client base as a result.

Speaking about the sale, Evans says: “The Wimbledon Print Company has over 25 years in the area. It was a legacy business spanning three generations – grandparents, dad, and son. Michael and his family built a well-established client base, and we moved our Minuteman Press centre to their larger premises. This has allowed me to merge the two businesses together, grow the team, and acquire new clients. We have taken over a larger business space, three additional team members, and additional equipment that allows us to do more products in-house.”

Speaking of the acquisition, Evans adds: “Mark Jones was instrumental in the acquisition. He contacted local printers and kept in contact with Michael the owner, ultimately leading to the acquisition. The sale has been a relief to Michael due to life-changing circumstances. The acquisition has allowed the business to continue and loyal staff members to retain their jobs, saving him from shutting down the business. This way he also makes money from the sale.”
