First Komori G837P Advance EX Edition installed in UK

Selsey Press, a third-generation family printing business in West Sussex, has become the first company in the UK to install the Komori G837P Advance EX Edition with Autopilot technology.

Following several weeks of installation, testing, and fine-tuning, the new offset press is now fully operational and reportedly delivering significant improvements in speed, quality control, and production efficiency.

The multi-million-pound investment increases the company’s production capacity for customers across the UK including businesses, charities, design agencies, print management companies, and trade partners.

The Komori G837P Advance EX Edition is an eight-colour convertible perfecting offset printing press designed for double-sided commercial printing.

The new press, which was first announced globally at drupa 2024, features advanced automation technology capable of monitoring print quality in real time, which is designed to reduce waste, improve consistency, and increase productivity.

The Autopilot system checks every printed sheet for colour and compares each sheet to the customers artwork file, with the installation representing the first time such a technology was installed in the UK.

SRA1 sheets can be printed on both sides at 15,000 sheets per hour, equating to 240,000 A4 pages per hour, enabling Selsey Press to produce larger and more complex print projects at greater efficiency.
