Visual Print’s MD moves To Solopress

PRINTING United Alliance is celebrating Women’s History Month throughout March

US-based printing and graphic arts association is celebrating Women’s History much during March with dedicated content, interviews, and podcasts to highlight women in the print industry.
From March 1st to 31st, the association is hosting conversations with industry advocates, running a special podcast series, and running other dedicated content. The organisation’s Women in Print Alliance is also reported to be growing and evolving with Lisbeth Lyons Black now at the reins.
These changes include the launch of a dedicated LinkedIn channel, a newly designed websitwe, and a Women in Print Alliance newsletter which launches this month. Women in Print is also running a month-long social media campaign on LinkedIn with the hashtag #WomenMakingPrintHistory.
Part of the line-up is a special podcast series hosted by editorial director Denise M. Gustavson titled ‘The Impressions Xchange’ Podcast Series. The podcast will highlight 20 women from the industry on Printing Impressions via Spotify and Apple.

In addition to the podcast series, PRINTING United Alliance will host a number of editorial features across Alliance platforms. These include In-plant Impressions’ March/April issue which includes a feature story on three in-plants run solely by women titled ‘Strong Women Standing Out in a Man’s World’.
Packaging Impressions will also feature a profile of various women in the packaging industry every Wednesday throughout March. The Apparelist will highlight women-owned apparel decorators.
“What’s exciting about the history of women in print is that it’s truly a ‘living history’,” Lyons Black says, adding: “Veteran women in the industry today are making strides because of lessons learned from women who pioneered the way before them, while women new to the industry have the benefit of observing more female leadership examples than ever before as gender diversity at printing companies increases.
“There is also a proud family business heritage in the printing industry, and many women in our community today are following in the footsteps of mothers and even grandmothers who were early success stories in print.”
