Trade organisation Picon has announced the appointment of Mark Lawn, head of print-on-demand for Fujifilm Europe, and Steve Turner managing director of Komori UK as members of its Council.

Both Lawn and Turner have regularly attended Picon events and appreciate the value of the trade organisation, particularly through challenges such as Brexit, Covid-19, and other industry changes.

Highlighting the diverse range of offerings from members of Picon, Turner says: “Picon strives to offer value to all its members, be it creating opportunities to attend seminars that are interesting, relevant, and educations; organising high quality networking events with peers; or providing information and help on employment and training programmes.

“It is the responsibility of the Council to engage with members, listen to their views and consider how best it can offer support.”

With a clear vision of the direction he would like the trade organisation to take, Lawn adds: “Our industry needs young talent with fresh ideas and perspective. To evolve, thrive, and remain relevant we need to bring new ideas, initiatives, and energy.

“This also serves to inform other similar topics such as diversity and inclusivity. Picon has an important role to play in supporting members to achieve these goals.”

Both Lawn and Turner recognise that they will be ‘on call’ to ensure Picon fosters an environment for informed discussion and debate, and help members navigate challenging times.

Other members of the Council include Chairman James Boughton (Edale); Ryan Miles (Heidelberg); Iain Bullock (Renz); Stuart Murphy (Rollem); Tim Klemz (Compact Engineering, BPMSA representative); Greg Bird (Kolbus); Kevin O’Donnell (Xerox); Mark Bristow (Friedheim); Neil Jones (Bobst); and Peter Murphy (Turnbull & Scott, BPMSA representative).
