Yorkshire-based print company instantprint has celebrated reaching four years of being a Real Living Wage employer.

Employees for the company are paid £10.90ph or 4.5% more compared to the £10.42 national living wage and £10.18 minimum wage. The business also helps colleagues through a number of initiatives such as financial drop-in sessions, Westfield health schemes, and using mental health first aiders.

The business has highlighted the decision to support staff more than ever due to rising costs and challenges for workers around the UK and the world.

Instantprint’s newest Employee Net Promotor Score yielded positive results such as a 22.63% increase for the question: “How likely are you to recommend instantprint to a friend or colleague as a good place to work?”

These latest celebrations and announcements demonstrate the need for employers to focus on colleague wellbeing especially post-pandemic and in a more competitive market.

Cycle-to-work schemes as well as regular company socials like sports days, training opportunities, employee discounts, and speaker sessions are just some of the ways instantprint is supporting its teams.

Vicki Russel, head of HR at instantprint, says: “Celebrating our fourth year as a Real Living Wage employer is an incredible milestone. Supporting our workforce and paying them a wage based on real living costs is a true reflection of instantprint culture.

“We’re also super proud to support our team in other ways, from having mental health first aiders on hand to supporting colleagues with medical cash plans and critical illness cover, all paid for by the business, these are just some of the benefits our workforce can make use of.”

Future goals for the company include maintaining its Real Living Wage accreditation; maintaining a happy and healthy workforce; growing its sustainability strategy; and improving gender equality.

The Living Wage Foundation states: “The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living. It is voluntarily paid by over 12,000 UK businesses which believe their staff deserve a wage which meets every day needs like the weekly shop, or a surprise trip to the dentist.”
