Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) has detailed its recent work in volunteering and fundraising for the Candlelighters Christmas Party.

The charity provides support to families dealing with children’s cancer and requires help during the busy festive period with toy drives and social gatherings.

On Sunday, December 3rd staff of Konica Minolta and Candlelighters worked together to give children and their families a memorable day by dressing as different children’s characters including Champ, the official Candlelighters mascot.

Activities included face painting, a disco, and gift giving, and Rob Isherwood, customer success manager at Konica Minolta, described the day as “truly magical”, adding: “The smiles it brought to the children will live with me for the rest of my life.”

The company says 150 toys will be added to Candlelighters Christmas boxes which will be shared with children throughout the holiday season. A further 150 gifts are also being shared with the Dynamic centre for children and young people with disabilities in Wrexham.

Every year Konica Minolta encourages its 600 UK employees to dedicate one work day to volunteering which in turn leads to a number of colleagues undertaking fundraising challenges like weight loss challenges and food events.

Marie Woodhead, partner marketing manager, along with Isherwood both raised over £3,500 for Candlelighters through their fundraising campaigns.

Gillian Anderson, environment, social, and governance partner at Konica Minolta, says: “It is inspiring to see the positive impact our charity involvement is having, whether through volunteering or supporting our initiatives such as the Toy Drive. Throughout 2024, we look forward to getting even more active, particularly in supporting our chosen charities with fundraising activities.”

Elise Simpson, volunteering, and executive administrator at Candlelighters, concludes: “Everyone had such positive things to say about the team from Konica Minolta and the efforts they went to, to make the day a memorable celebration for everyone involved.”
