The British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) has extended the deadline of the 2024 British Book Design and Production Awards to the 13th of September.
The BPIF Book Awards are hailed as a prestigious show in the literary events calendar, showcasing the best of British book design and production. The event aims to celebrate the talent of the British book community, as well as those aspiring to join it.
The BPIF runs the event as part of its drive to support its members and the wider print industry, using the awards as a way to shine a spotlight on the publishing side of the industry and encourage networking opportunities.
There are 17 categories, including ‘Best British Book’, ‘Self-Published Books’, ‘Best Jacket/Cover design’, and ‘Sustainable Books’. From the category winners, one book will be crowned the 'Book of the Year'.

The 2024 awards will be presented on 29th January 2025 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. All books published between 1st July 2023 and 1st August 2024 are eligible for entry into the awards, as long as they have been published, designed, or printed in the UK. Industry experts from a range of disciplines, such as design, publishing, production and retail will judge the entries.
There is also an award up for grabs for the ‘Best Student Book’. The award offers students the chance to have their work seen by leading industry professionals. It provides the winner with £500 and a short internship with a leading designer, publisher or printer.
A full list of categories and information on how to enter can be found on the British Book Design and Production Awards website.
