Print manufacturers and paper suppliers are just some of the types of businesses that have raised money for charity over Christmas

Throughout the festive period and New Year, print businesses have worked with a variety of charities to raise money for important issues.

Helping charities and initiatives has never been more important as the cost-of-living crisis affects everyone, meaning charities in particular must try their best to work with limited budgets and increasing workloads.

One example is Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK joining forces with Crisis, the national charity for homelessness. The two organisations worked together with The Aimar Foundation in order to help those in need make the first step out of homelessness.

Konica provided multifunction devices and PaperCut print management software at hotels and day centres across London to give people access to vital information and documentation.

Chief executive office of The Aimar Foundation, Simon Clark, explains: “For some people who use the hotels and visit the centres throughout Christmas, their email address is the only address they have.

Crisis estimates that by the end of 2021, 227,000 households across Britain were experiencing the worst forms of homelessness

“Being able to print, scan, and email documents is something we take for granted but without access to a device, it can be a real barrier to taking the steps needed to significantly improve a person’s circumstances and opportunities. Konica Minolta provides these people and Crisis volunteers with everything they need for this.”

Together with Crisis and companies like Konica Minolta, The Aimar Foundation has been able to help hundreds of people to look for work, connect with loved ones, and access self-help tools since 2008.

Provider of managed workplace services, Apogee also worked to improve lives over Christmas by raising £3,825 for Action for Children UK. The fundraiser was a part of Apogee’s annual Christmas Charity Advent Calendar event.

The charity provides support to thousands of vulnerable children and young people across the UK, meaning the funds raised will help in providing practical and emotional support during this tough winter.

As part of the Advent Calendar Event, employees purchased raffle tickets to be in with the chance to win from a range of prizes, donated by Apogee’s generous partners and suppliers.

Dom Gryszan, Apogee’s director of marketing, says: “Considering the circumstances this year, we knew we wanted to help some of our most vulnerable people get the support they need.

“The Advent Calendar event has always added a bit of excitement to the lead up to the Christmas break. We’re so grateful for all of our partners and suppliers, and everyone who decided to donate to this very worthy cause.”

Thanks to supporters like Antalis, cancer survival in the UK has doubled over the last 40 years

Money has also been raised by paper and materials supplier Antalis, which raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

After its successful Movember fundraiser in 2021, 26 members of the Antalis team took part in the push-up challenge.

Each member of the team completed 100 push-ups a day for the whole of November to help pioneering work to prevent and treat cancer.
