The Graphic Packaging Bristol team recently celebrated prestigious business awards from Bristol Live such as Large Business of the Year and Manufacturer of the Year

Graphic Packaging International, a producer of paperboard and paper-based packaging, has announced its Bristol-based operations will be moving to a new state-of-the-art facility.

The packaging company operates worldwide with over 130 facilities producing solutions for food, beverage, household, personal care, and pet care products.

The new facility will seek to create “beverage packaging excellence” with its 255,000sq ft site which will be located near to its current location in Fishponds, Bristol.

By moving to a new site Graphic Packaging will double the size of its current operation, create up to 30 new jobs, and allow the company to increase output for the increasing demand for fibre-based packaging.

Martin Sheppard, general manager, beverage, EMEA, states: “This key investment in our Bristol operation makes for exciting news for our customers and employees. It reinforces our commitment to the UK and European beverage packaging markets for decades to come.

“It has been an exceptional few years for our Bristol site, and we look forward to making an even greater impact on our local economy in 2023 with the relocation of our facility to a significantly larger site, a move that will provide many new jobs. The boost to capacity means the future is very bright indeed for our Bristol operations.”

Glyn Champion, UK sales director, beverage, adds: “When the move to the new site is complete, the increased capacity and capability will enable us to offer more sustainable packaging innovations for our customers. We’re proud to further accelerate our commitment to brands around the world as an innovative and trusted supplier.”

The new facility is targeted to be fully operational in Q4 of 2023 and is hoped to be one of the largest and most technologically advanced sheet-fed folding carton plants in Europe.

Many of Graphic Packaging’s innovations have been developed at the current Bristol site, including the multi-award-winning KeelClip, a fibre-based beverage multipack solution which has been used by some of the world’s biggest beverage brands.
