The Swiss digital printing company has revealed it will be launching in the UK

Switzerland-based printing company NOMOQ which specialises in the printing of high-quality cans for the beverage market has announced plans to open a new UK production facility.
The company was set up in 2022 by a team of craft beverage lovers who wanted to turn cans into pieces of art. The latest site will be NOMOQ’s second production location, after setting up its first site in Frankfurt, Germany.
The company name stands for No Minimum Order Quantity, making the company a unique and accessible solution for companies with small budgets or production lines.
The new UK site, set to open by summer 2023 in the West Midlands, will recruit 30 roles across machine operation, graphic design, administration, and logistics.
NOMOQ’s latest decision is a good sign of the expansion and investment of UK print houses despite the challenges caused by the likes of Brexit. The fact that Switzerland is also not a part of the EU could also signify continued investment in the UK from European non-EU countries.

The UK beverage industry is expected to reach over £8bn in revenue at the end of 2023 with 22.2m users by 2027. Brits are expected to become a nation of canned beverage consumers due to changing drinking habits post-pandemic and a preference for fully recyclable packaging.
Peter Stein, chief executive officer of NOMOQ, says: “Following large demand for fully recyclable, lightweight, and shatterproof cans from UK brands, coupled with a diverse and surging national craft beverage culture, the UK was quickly identified as an area for growth.”
“We’re excited to provide beverage producers access to high-quality cans, digitally printed with millions of colours and shades with no minimum order quantity which supports tight cash flows or storage limitations.”
NOMOQ has seen previous success winning ‘Can of the Year’ in 2022 from Canmaker’s magazine and securing investment from supplier of sustainable and recyclable metal glass packaging, Ardagh Group.
Stein adds: “We look forward to further expanding our partnerships in the UK beverage ecosystem and meeting the innovative entrepreneurs and business leaders behind the brands, from beer to wine, cocktails, soft drinks, kombucha, and water companies.”
