UK-based print, design, and fulfilment provider, Page Bros Group, has acquired card publisher, Green Pebble, in order to bring an established print and creative partnership into closer alignment.

The acquisition formalises a longstanding relationship between the companies, combining an over 200-year-old UK print business with an artist-led publisher.

Green Pebble had previously worked with Page Bros as a manufacturing partner to handle the printing and production of its greeting cards and stationery.

According to Page Bros’ chief executive officer, Alex Tuya, the deal is as much about shared values as strategic opportunity.

Tuya says: "We chose to acquire Green Pebble because it operates in a sector we know well and is a business we've admired for some time. Being a local company added to its appeal, but what really stood out was the energy, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that Michael and Ruby have brought to the business over the years."

Green Pebble was founded in Beccles, Suffolk by husband and wife team, Michael Charles and Ruby Ormerod, following a successful career in finance – with Ormerod returning to her creative print roots after having worked as a magazine editor.

The venture first launched with a magazine celebrating East Anglian artists in 2007, before evolving into art publishing and then greeting cards.

Green Pebble’s core offering focuses on transforming original artwork into premium greeting cards and stationery, working closely with independent artists across the UK.

Speaking of the company’s origins, Charles says: "[…] Years ago I told my dad I wanted to become an artist. To his credit, he hid his smirks but firmly nudged me towards accountancy.

"By 2011 we realised it was the pictures people wanted to see, not the words, so we evolved into publishing art on the ‘small screen’ of greeting cards."

Speaking about the acquisition, Charles adds: "Green Pebble is a natural fit for us. It allows us to deepen an already strong relationship while providing the support and infrastructure needed for the next stage of growth."

The latest acquisition follows a number of other purchases by Page Bros, aiming to expand the company’s services and offerings while deepening the range of markets it operates within.

Page Bros began its expansion into the artist-led retail market with the purchase of Art Angels Publishing in March 2024.

The acquisition combined the stationery, greeting card, and calendar output of Art Angels with Page Bros’ infrastructure in high-volume printing, storage, ecommerce, and logistics fulfilment.

In December 2025, Page Bros announced the acquisition of BDH Tullford, also known as BD&H, a specialist in printed point-of-sale (POS), display, and signage.

The strategic acquisition combined BD&H’s retail graphics experience with Page Bros’ established commercial print and fulfilment operations, allowing Page Bros to offer a wider, more joined-up range of services.
