Plockmatic Group has officially acquired an LED coating solution developed by Tony Michiels, its recently hired business development manager
Finishing solutions provider, Plockmatic Group, has officially acquired an LED coating solution developed by its recently hired business development manager.
Tony Michiels is the owner and founder of SP Tec Spare Parts International which specialises in the research and development of coating technologies.
The collaboration between Plockmatic and Michiels began several years ago, resulting in the development of LED coating technology designed for both inline and offline printing configurations, including the Digicoater Pro 400 solution.
The LED solution is said to offer enhanced energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact in comparison to traditional UV coating technology.
In December 2024, Michiels was hired by Plockmatic as its business development manager for LED cut sheet coaters.
Finishing solutions provider, Plockmatic Group, has now announced the successful acquisition of all IP and related technology for the coating solution.
This acquisition finalises the consolidation of LED coating technology under Plockmatic Group, including production logistics, spare parts management, and customer support. According to Plockmatic, the move has been made to further strengthen its position in delivering advanced, sustainable coating solutions for the digital printing industry.
Moving forward, both Michiels and systems software engineer, Marc Prade, will continue to support the growth of the LED coating business as key members of the Plockmatic team.
