Cut Print Solutions was established just three years ago
Cut Print Solutions has invested in a new Veloblade Nexus from manufacturer, Vivid, in order to transform its production output and speed.
The print provider, based in Jarrow near Newcastle Upon Tyne, was established just three years ago, growing quickly to now offer a comprehensive range of wide- and small-format printing services.
As the business continued to grow, Cut Print Solutions began to experience increasing pressure on its finishing department, particularly in terms of cutting. The volume and variety of work was creating significant bottlenecks that slowed production and limited scalability.
The company reportedly approached Vivid after hearing positive feedback from industry peers, arranging a demonstration of the Veloblade Nexus to get a sense of its features and output quality.
Reflecting on the demonstration, Stephen Downey, director of Cut Print Solutions, says: “We were blown away by the versatility and accuracy of the Nexus.”

The print provider was reportedly impressed by the machine’s combination of performance, precision, purchasing the Veloblade Nexus shortly afterwards.
Since installing the machine at its facility, the print provider has been able to expand into a number of new applications including die-cut and kiss-cut stickers, rigid boards, life-size cutouts, and custom-made boxes for packaging.
Discussing the other benefits of the Nexus, Downey adds: “The implementation of the Veloblade Nexus delivered an immediate and transformative impact, significantly improving efficiency and production speed. Automation of roll-to-roll poster cutting reduced turnaround times from hours to just minutes.”
The Nexus is available for purchase from Vivid alongside patented solutions including the Veloton interchangeable cutting system and the Velotaper automated cutting system.
