BW Converting  Solutions will be demonstrating innovations from Baldwin, PCMC, and W+D at drupa 2024 under the theme ‘Achieve More with Less’.

Baldwin Technology

Baldwin Technology will launch three new products: a redesigned LED-UV curing platform, a more powerful version of its QuadCure UV line, and an upgraded print inspection product family.

Jonathan Fore, product management director at Baldwin, comments: “These new technologies fill critical gaps in the market, and we look forward to demonstrating how we can empower businesses to propel their print quality and productivity.”

Visitors to the BW Converting booth will also be able to see the ION Hybrid Digital Press from Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC).

Said to “redefine flexible packaging”, the ION breaks speed barriers at up to 400 feet per minute, resulting in an output capacity of up to 1,733sq ft per minute and almost an 800% productivity increase over existing digital presses.

Citing “wider, faster, next-generation digital printing for flexible packaging”, Windell McGill, product launch manager at PCMC, says: “ION opens more possibilities for brands with incredible speed-to-market advancements and mass customisation at scale.

“For converters, ION offers operating efficiencies and the ability to profitably produce longer run lengths.”

Visitors will also be able to see the Meridian, PCMC’s patented laser technology that deep cleans engravings of any line screen without increased surface temperature.

Winkler + Dünnebier (W+D)

Offering “the future of mailing solutions”, W+D will be showing the higher speed and wider product range BB820+ mail and ballot inserting system and the new wider printhead i-Jet 3 high-quality envelope and direct mail inkjet overprint press. The latter has achieved a 39% increase in speed with both machines set to run at drupa.

W+D will also be welcoming visitors to its nearby Neuwied factor from June 3rd and 4th where attendees can see the world premiere of the W+D 628KC combi envelope and direct mail converter.

Stan Blakney, president of BW Converting, comments: “Answering the call of today’s printing, packaging, and mailing industries for more intuitive technology, less operator expertise and a full lifecycle model which combines human and software to fully optimise operations, BW Converting brings the best technology and people to address the key challenges of our markets.

“We look forward to demonstrating our live running technologies and our collaborative approach to support our markets to thrive in an ever-evolving marketplace.”

Drupa 2024 will take place from May 28th to June 7th in the Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre, Germany.
