The Independent Paper Show will return on June 11th and 12th, with a range of exhibitors showcasing new materials and creative printing applications

The Independent Paper Show returns to London’s Crypt on the Green venue on June 11th and 12th, showcasing a range of new materials and creative printing applications.
The showcase aims to bring together the most important producers, suppliers, and crafters from across various sectors that utilise paper. Along with demonstrations from a wide range of exhibitors, the event will include networking drinks on the evening of June 11th.
Among the exhibitors at this year’s show will be materials manufacturer, James Cropper, which celebrates its 180th anniversary this year.
James Cropper will use its stand to demonstrate a range of applications for its specialist paper materials, with a particular focus on its upcycled products. This includes recycled paper cups produced using its CupCycling technology, a system that upcycles up to 700 million used coffee cups per year into premium paper.
James Cropper will also demonstrate a novel use of material recovered from paper cups, using it to print a new children’s book titled Little Coffee Cup’s Big Surprise. The book’s author, Hayley Slack, will attend the event to discuss her creative journey throughout the project.
In addition, CupCycling materials have been used as part of a collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, which saw design students develop lighting concepts using James Cropper products as part of a contest.
The winner, Jonathan Bairnes, will be present on the stand to discuss his concept, the Eclipsa table lamp. Inspired by East Asian culture, the lamp uses two different paper materials to offer hard and soft lighting in a cylindrical, lantern-like design.
Speaking of the event, Gareth Fisher, global sales director at James Cropper, says: “Events like the Independent Paper Show are so important because they embody that collaborative spirit, bringing together experts and innovators from several industries to inspire a brighter future.
“It’s the perfect place to throw down the gauntlet by showing what can be achieved when you improve access to recycled material.”

Another materials supplier which will exhibit at the show will be Antalis, which will present the application possibilities of its creative papers and graphical board solutions.
Antalis paper specification consultants will be available throughout the event to provide tailored guidance and recommendations for upcoming design and print projects.
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a selection of Antalis' creative paper brands including Keaykolour, Curious Collection, Olin, Rives, and Conqueror, as well as graphical and cartonboard solutions from Invercote, Incada, Performa Light, and Eska.
Vicky Weatherington, creative papers and specification manager at Antalis, says: “Antalis will be there supporting the creative community and is committed to providing innovative, high-quality materials that bring creative designs and ideas to life.”
Other exhibitors at this year’s Independent Paper Show will include Fedrigoni, GF Smith, Winter & Company, and Foilco.
