Kongsberg showcases innovation at FESPA 2026

KAS Paper Systems has revealed the range of finishing kit it will show at drupa
KAS Paper Systems will showcase a card attaching system, an envelope inserter, and a large-format bookletmaker and trimmer at drupa 2024.
The card-attaching system, CardMailer, has been designed by KAS Paper Systems and can be integrated with the Mailmaster range of enveloping systems. This technology will be showcased for the first time at drupa.
According to KAS Paper Systems managing director Stephen Hampstead, one of the main features of the CardMailer is its flexible and modular design with it being able to match and attach plastic or paper-based cards to letters or other documents.
Hampstead explains how the card carrier can either be pre-printed or printed in-line and when pre-printed, an A4-size sheet, folded document, or booklet pre-sized for the envelope can be fed and folded. If being printed in-line using a floor-standing office printer, the card is fed and read and this data is used to print the personalised carrier.
“In either case, the carrier can be folded before or after the card has been attached, depending on the application,” Hampstead says. “The card is fed from a top-load, bottom-feed shuttle feeder, and attached to the carrier with hot melt glue. More than one card can be attached to the carrier.
“Carrier and card are read, and this data can be used for matching and/or recording to a file for reporting. If they don’t match, the item is diverted before going any further.”
A KAS Mailmaster envelope inserter can be placed in-line to receive the carrier and attached card, and this format will be demonstrated at drupa on the KAS Paper Systems booth.
The Mailmaster Ascent will also be demonstrated, the latest envelope inserter from KAS Paper Systems, for the first time at a European show. KAS will also be showing its Mailmaster 465 envelope inserter as well as the KASFOLD 640 large-format bookletmaker and trimmer.
Drupa 2024 will take place from May 28th to June 7th in the Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre, Germany.
