The announcement is part of FUJIFILM’s commitment to sustainable practices and reducing environmental impact
Fujifilm has announced the establishment of the Circular Manufacturing Center, which is designed to promote resource circulation in Europe.
The new centre, based at the FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe headquarters in the Netherlands, will collect used toner cartridges from printers and remanufacture them into new toner cartridges, for use within the European region.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation plans to expand these remanufacturing processes to other products in the future, including remanufacturing spare parts for production printers.
The announcement is the latest endorsement from Fujifilm towards sustainable practices and reducing environmental impact.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation established its first circular production system back in 1995. The Fujifilm Group has also released its sustainability targets for 2030 with objectives including a commitment to resolve environmental issues through the reduction of global environmental impact.
Additionally, FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe headquarters supplies all of its electricity from a combination of on-site wind power generation and power from a purchased wind power generation company.
According to Fujifilm, this use of wind power means that the newly established Circular Manufacturing Center can achieve virtually zero CO2 emissions from the electricity it uses.
Fujifilm Europe also announced two appointments to its expanding packaging division, Adil Kabel and Tommy Segelberg.
Kabel will take on the role of sales manager, Packaging, for Benelux. Kabel will support the existing team in the Benelux region and oversee packaging activities.
Segelberg transitions from a role as business lead, Nordics, to the position of segment manager, Digital Packaging for the EMEA region, with a specific focus on Fujifilm’s digital packaging press, the Jet Press FP790.
Both Kabel and Segelberg will report to Manuel Schrutt, Fujifilm’s global director of business strategy for packaging.
Schrutt comments: “These key appointments within our team signify an exciting phase in Fujifilm’s strategy to solidify our position as a leading integrated packaging supplier and showcase our commitment to meeting increased demand across the market”.
