Ahead of Labelexpo Europe 2025, HP has announced its latest solution for versatile digital label production

Global technology producer, HP, has introduced the HP Indigo 6K+ Digital Press to the label and flexible packaging market in order to meet growing production demands.
The press is operated by the new SmartControlSystem, which introduces advancements in artificial intelligence- (AI-) powered tools along with advancements in automation, scalability, and press robustness.
HP says the press has been produced due to the increasing requirements for multiples SKUs, faster turnaround times, and greater application diversity.
According to the company, the HP Indigo 6K has sold over 2,300 units globally, which has led to this new model, which is engineered to meet the growing needs of the industry. HP also says the press features a “future-ready platform” which enables converters to stay ahead in the marketplace.
Equipped with an improved SmartControlSystem, which has been designed to improve diagnostics, uptime, and press reliability, the press is said to have the ability to produce more jobs per shift, minimising waste and reducing unplanned maintenance interruptions.
The press comes with a suite of software tools including HP PrintOS Suite, Automatic Alert Agent 2.0 (AAA 2.0), HP Spot Master, and HP Nio. These additions help with real time insights, short set-up times, troubleshooting, and automated colour management.
The new solution has also been built to work with a wide range of substrates and to support complex applications such as smart labels with brand protection features and data-driven design tools.

Built for high-mix job baskets, the press can handle pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, in-mold labels (IML), wraparounds, laminated tubes, flexible packaging, and folding cartons. The 6K+ features seven ink stations and spot colours, and covers speciality inks like Silver ElectroInk, invisible and fade-resistant inks, and a portfolio of white inks.
Noam Zilbershtain, vice president and general manager for HP Indigo, says: “As we advance HP Indigo’s vision of nonstop digital printing, we are proud to introduce the new HP Indigo 6K+ Digital Press, featuring the groundbreaking SmartControlSystem for enhanced robustness and nonstop production. This press is designed to help converters confidently say ‘yes’ to any label job today and in the future.
"With intelligent automation, embedded AI, advanced diagnostics, and a proven digital platform at its core, the HP Indigo 6K+ opens up infinite opportunities for growth."
HP has reported a range of positive feedback from its beta customers including Summit Labels and Geostick which both claim to have maximised productivity streamlined operations.
This latest release will be on show for the first time at this year’s Labelexpo in Barcelona at booths 5E25 and 5D21, alongside a portfolio of digital press including the Indigo V12.
