Dayfold enters liquidation

Commercial printer, Dayfold, has entered liquidation following reported financial issues and a period of poor trading

Luxury print and packaging specialist, Dayfold, has officially appointed liquidators and will be wound up voluntarily.

A general meeting about the liquidation took place on July 7th with Alexander Kinninmonth and James Prior, both from FRP Advisory Trading based in Southampton, appointed as liquidators of the company for the purpose of the winding up.

The liquidation follows a series of recent changes at Dayfold that include managing director Del Simmons leaving the company and a number of employees being made redundant. The company has reportedly been impacted by rising costs, challenging market conditions, and a period of poor trading.

A new relationship with print and signage solutions provider, BCP Media Group, has also formed in recent months, with Dave Stroud, group managing director of BCP Media Group, being appointed as Dayfold’s new managing director in June

Dayfold is yet to release a public statement about the situation. More information about the liquidation and the future of the company is expected in due course.

As well as its commercial print and packaging output, Dayfold also participated in outreach programmes designed to inspire the next generation in print. This included a student design competition for Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) made in collaboration with LUSH, Foilco, and G.F Smith.

First year students on AUB’s Graphic Design course were tasked with producing printed and packaged wellbeing kits which used LUSH cosmetics. The winning design was produced by Dayfold and distributed at major music festivals.
