Ahead of Labelexpo Europe 2025, HP has announced its latest solution for versatile digital label production
The new RICOH Pro C5400 series of colour production printers has been released, offering significant improvements in comparison to its predecessors
Print press manufacturer, Ricoh, has announced the launch of the new RICOH Pro C5400 series of colour production printers.
Ricoh’s latest production printer aims to combine enhanced production speed and operation with greater usability, designed to meet the diverse needs of commercial and enterprise operations.
The Pro 5400 Series reportedly features significant improvements in overall core performance in comparison to its predecessors, the RICOH ProTMC5310S, C5300S, and Pro C5300SL.
Warm up time has been significantly reduced from previous models, reduced from 120 seconds to 26 seconds with the Pro C5410S and 30 seconds for the Pro C5400S.
The new models also offer faster scanning speed, with duplex scanning of up to 300ppm. A new AI-powered orientation detection technology aims to elevate efficiency further, with further software support for continuous scans of small-format documents such as business cards.
The Pro C5400 Series also offers a stapleless binding function which Ricoh calls an industry-first.
The finishing option uses water to moisten and press the papers together, enabling stapeless binding of up to 16 sheets for corner binding, or up to 12 sheets for two position binding.
The new series also aims to provide improved paper transport stability and enhanced image registration accuracy for duplex and long sheet printing, with a redesigned vacuum-fed large capacity input tray (LCIT).
The series supports various types of media including coated paper, waterproof paper, envelopes, clear files, and long sheet printing up to 1,300mm.
Ricoh has also targeted sustainable practices with the build of the machine, with the use of recycled materials in its construction increased by more than five times compared to its predecessor.
The RICOH Pro C5400 series will be commercially available from July in the EMEA region, including an official UK launch in the same month.
Eef de Ridder, vice president of the Graphic Communications Group for Ricoh Europe, says: “Greater production capacity and versatility is enabled by the new Pro C5400 Series that has been designed to help commercial and enterprise operations expand their capabilities.
“Print production environments need to consistently and flexibly meet greater demand for a wider range of short run applications. The comprehensive upgrades are all focused on powering consistent, high-quality print on a range of substrates to ensure operations can confidently and repeatedly achieve that.”
