Kodak has released system updates designed to optimise performance for the entire PROSPER Plus lineup

American print press manufacturer, Kodak, has launched the KODAK PROSPER Plus 5 imprinting system, expanding its existing PROSPER Plus portfolio with a 152m/min solution that adds KODAK Stream inkjet technology to existing presses and finishing lines.

Designed for both printers and converters, the PROSPER Plus 5 has been developed to enable variable data printing, coding, serialisation, personalisation, and versioning on existing analogue presses and finishing lines without replacing current equipment.

With the device, Kodak aims to give printers the flexibility to expand into higher-margin applications, respond faster to changing customer demands, and generate new revenue from assets they already own.

Offering 600 x 900 dpi resolution, flexible drop size options, and enhanced reliability in comparison to previous iterations, the PROSPER Plus 5 can support applications including direct mail, packaging, security printing, lottery, and personal care.

Powered by Kodak’s Stream technology and its EKTACOLOR Inks, the new imprinting system also integrates the latest PROSPER Plus platform enhancements that are designed to improve serviceability, streamline connectivity, and maximise up-time in demanding production environments.

Kodak is also simplifying its existing portfolio by renaming PROSPER Plus 1/1W and PROSPER Plus 2/2W to PROSPER Plus 10 and PROSPER Plus 20, reflecting the devices’ production speeds of 1,000ft/min and 2,000ft/min respectively.

Existing PROSPER S-Series customers will continue to receive full-service support, with upgrade options available as production needs evolve.

Laura Cole, vice president of pricing and product management at Kodak, says: “This new addition to the PROSPER portfolio reflects our continued investment and ongoing commitment to the print industry.

“With the PROSPER Plus 5, Kodak is helping printers modernise existing production assets, unlock new revenue opportunities, and deliver the personalisation, traceability, and flexibility that today’s markets demand.”
