Konica Minolta UK is hosting its latest educational event alongside Young People In Print, where local pupils can discover the range of opportunities that a career in print can offer

Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK has hosted 30 pupils and their teachers during its latest educational event, co-hosted by Young People in Print (YPIP).
As part of the event, taking place today (April 14th) at Konica Minolta’s recently expanded Client Engagement Centre (CEC) in Houghton Regis, Year 10 children from a local school can discover the wide range of opportunities that a career in the print industry can offer.
Konica Minolta has prepared an agenda that aims to showcase how a career in print provides a way to express creativity, use the latest technology, learn about the commercial world, and make a significant contribution to wider society.
Print-focused educational organisation, Young People in Print (YPIP), is once again supporting the event, in which pupils will go on a ‘print journey’ from concept through to creation.
The attendees can get hands-on with Konica Minolta presses to discover how the printed materials they see and use in the world around them are made.
In addition, attendees are tasked with designing a poster that captures their experience. These posters will be professionally printed, ready for the pupils to take back and share with their peers.
The Konica Minolta team will also be on hand to explain the pathways available to help young people take their first step on the print career ladder, including the company’s apprenticeship programme which is open to school and college leavers. Students at the event have the opportunity to speak to employees of Konica Minolta who have progressed through these routes.
Since opening the CEC in May 2024, Konica Minolta has undertaken a range of programmes to support the local community, including welcoming children from schools and colleges in the Dunstable area through its work with YPIP and educational programme, TechGirls.
Earlier this year, Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK was awarded ‘Top Employer’ status by the Top Employers Institute for a ninth consecutive year. The institute aims to recognise how talent is nurtured through apprenticeships, training programmes, and initiatives focused on helping people to develop their skills in different areas of a business.
