London Packaging Week adds host of new speakers to event

The event at the ExCel centre in London brings together a wide selection of brands and suppliers within the packaging industry

The organisers of London Packaging Week, Easyfairs, has announced a host of last-minute additions to the event's conference programme.

The event, running on September 11th and 12th at the ExCel centre in London, brings together a wide selection of brands and suppliers within the packaging industry.

Announced brands attending the event include Tesco, The Walt Disney Company, Amazon, Burberry, H&M, Sky, and HSBC, among many others.

With the show just a day away, we round up a few highlights of the upcoming expo that have recently been announced.

A wide range of live speaker sessions will be taking place throughout the event

Live Sessions Announced

Easyfairs announced a range of last-minute additions to the live sessions taking place at the event, including a range of experts within the marketing and packaging industries.

First up is a live session titled Conscious Consumerism: Inclusive Packaging Designed for Everyone. The talk will delve into the rising trend of inclusive packaging, including speaking about the importance of embracing social responsibility and representing diverse demographics.

Industry experts sharing their insights will include Marc Powell from Unilever, Stefan Casey from Nestlé, Lucy Burgess from design agency Touch, and Katie Roselaar from ThePackHub.

The event is taking place on day two of the event, from 11:30am to 12:15pm, with the discussion moderated by Waqas Qureshi of Packaging News.

Another session advertised by London Packaging Week is Beyond Conventional: Unlocking Innovation for Beauty and Beverages, which will explore strategies that can help companies to excel in market disruption.

Attendees will discover tools, trends, and capabilities needed to drive innovation in packaging. The session, taking place on day one from 11:15am to 12:00pm at the Beauty & Drinks stage, will include insights from William Connolly, senior principal scientist at Diageo, and Lena Danielsson, breakthrough innovation director at Pernod Ricard, among others.

Finally, the expo recently announced another live session titled Connected Packaging: Revolutionizing Consumer Engagement Now.

The talk will feature Steve Wardle, senior manager of packaging & artwork at Kellanova, and Jenny Stanley, founder and managing director at Appetite Creative. The pair will discuss how connected packaging is transforming consumer engagement. The talk is scheduled on day one from 12:30pm to 1:00pm at the Food & Consumer Pack stage.

Other Features

One of the highlights of the event will be the inaugural London Packaging Week Innovation Awards, which will celebrate achievements in packaging design and creativity.

Attendees will have the chance to explore a gallery of the finalists, as well as view the annual Innovation Showcase, which will feature innovations in packaging solutions from the past year.

Amberley Labels, the Coveris Group’s non-food labels division, is also set to showcase a range of sustainable brand protection technologies at London Packaging Week.

Amberley’s new security technology uses micro-traceable infrared inks and varnishes, detectable using specialist handheld scanning equipment. The particle technology is designed to withstand harsh environments such as liquid, chemical, high-energy, light exposure,  and weather resistance. Labels and scanners using the new technology will be available for demo at the show.

Talks on day two will have a key focus on industry innovations and trends. Lewis Collins from Aircards and Miguel Olarte from Diageo will explore the future of connected packaging. Additionally, Kellanova will share insights into how packaging innovations are driving brand engagement.
