The Print Show is underway at the NEC in Birmingham. The industry exhibition, running until September 19th, brings together a huge range of exhibitors and experts within the UK print and signage industries. Among the launches and new products at the event are a new banner range from large-format printing supplier, Venture Banners, as well as updates from software suppliers, Print IQ and VB Media.
Venture Banners
Having been an exhibitor at almost every Print Show, Venture Banners says it decided to return to The Print Show this year as it “always yields results”.
At the show, Venture Banners is using its presence to officially launch a new product range, based on feedback from customers. A sustainable and recyclable honeycomb cardboard range of display products, dubbed the Honeycomb Monolith, has been introduced at the show.
The Honeycomb Monolith has been designed from the ground up as an eco-friendly alternative to the traditional roller banner. It is also equivalent in shape and size to a Stretch Fabric Stand and is an ideal freestanding graphic suitable for many different use cases.
Made from 16mm-thick honeycomb-shaped board, it offers a single-sided face 750mm wide by 2000mm tall. Keeping the face upright is a bespoke-printable base, made from the same honeycomb board.

Scott Conway, co-founder and director of Venture Banners, explains: “Our new product range will deliver vast benefits to print businesses looking to boost their eco-friendly credentials. Many of their customers will be increasingly interested in working with sustainable printers, so that’s certainly a competitive advantage.
“On top of this, the cost to entry into the cardboard display market is usually incredibly high, so with this new product line, printers can profit in this area with no investment whatsoever besides the products themselves.”
Also on show, is some of the company’s most popular products including its stretch fabric solutions.
The team can be found on Stand A20 at The Print Show.
Print IQ
PrintIQ is on hand at The Print Show to showcase its cloud-based management system and connect with industry professionals.
The technologies and software solutions being presented by PrintIQ include a major new software release, version 48. This major release brings a range of new features and enhancements designed to streamline operations and efficiency, and to provide an even more intuitive user experience.
For wide-format printers, PrintIQ has been working on updates to the IQgang module. This new gang-based estimating tool is described as a “fantastic addition to the PrintIQ pricing engine” and is said to improve accuracy and turnaround times for more complex quotes.
Taking on feedback from customers in its apparel space, PrintIQ has also completed an overhaul of the way that promo products are ordered. The new look and feel of the interface, including the addition of tags to products, makes the process more flexible when searching, fine tuning prices, and ordering items.
As part of these updates, PrintIQ has added the ability to override pricing during the quoting process.
These new developments are on show at Stand P96.

VB Media
VB Media has returned to the show this year to showcase updates to its orders section.
The company, which offers a web solution for printers offering e-commerce, is using the show to discuss how simple, quick, and cost-effective setting up an e-commerce offering can be.
VB Media is also on hand to discuss the tactics it can use to ensure businesses are getting the most from their websites.
VB Media director, Wayne Bodimeade, explains: “Whatever you are doing, there is often some element of your online offering that you can improve, whether that is plugging in APIs to white label new products or simply making sure that your marketing efforts are doing all they can to drive traffic to your website.”
Describing the company’s focus for The Print Show 2024, Bodimeade adds: “I love it when we are talking to people about our platform and there is that ‘aha’ moment when they realise how our technology could help their business, so we are looking forward to lots of those.”
A new redeveloped agreement between the two companies will see Freideim distribute the new Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD, which is touted as the world's first embellishment solution for corrugated and rigid substrates
