Visual Print’s MD moves To Solopress

Paul Gerrard has been hired as Certus Card Group’s new managing director, after his previous company, Incodia International, was integrated under the group brand
Certus Card Group has announced the appointment of Paul Gerrard as its new managing director.
The news follows the integration of Incodia International and Precision Card Services (PCS) under the unified Certus Card Group brand.
Incodia and PCS were acquired in 2023 by Woodberry Packaging, the packaging subsidiary of investment firm Woodberry Capital. The two card and packaging companies merged under the Certus moniker in March, forming a group with over 100 employees around the UK.
Certus now operates from three manufacturing facilities in Macclesfield, Skelmersdale, and Colchester, offering an end-to-end service including card manufacturing and personalisation, secure packaging, mailing, and fulfilment.
Gerrard, who most recently worked as sales director for Incodia International, was reportedly hired for his wealth of previous experience and proven track record in the card sector. Gerrard worked for Incodia for over 20 years, including under its former name of CPI Group.
The appointment was also made following a comprehensive review of the company’s leadership team, as well as a recent $1m (£760k) investment in a high-secure sealing line to facilitate the business’s PaperBurstTech solution.
PaperBurstTech is a secure gift card technology, developed initially by Incodia and now further refined under the Certus brand, which is designed to prevent gift card fraud. The solution was first teased at the recent Gift Card & Voucher Association (GCVA) Conference, with more information due to be released in due course.
